Bernina Aurora 440 QE (Quilter's Edition) with Embroidery Attachment

The photo below shows the cabinet opened up fully.
Barely used. What on Earth would be a fair price for this machine?
(retails around $6,000)

What can I tell my widower friend this is worth? Neither of us want to deal with ebay or Craig's list. Any ideas on what would be a fair price for him and the buyer?
Also, a quilt book case:
Are there people who would buy this whole lot of quilting books?
Or should I make a detailed inventoryof each publication?

The problem with selling the whole lot of books is you will get about 10 cents per book. You can take them to a used book store and get about 25 percent of the value of the books in trade in I think or 10 percent cash value which might be better than if you tried to sell the whole lot together to one person. You can call around to see what your local used book store is offering. I would think if you posted to machine on a yahoo sewing machine group, you could expect to get about 50 percent the retail value of it, but not much more than that, especially in this economy. :(
